About Clubhouse

Crosspoint Clubhouse is a ministry of Crosspoint Church for children one to five years of age.   We follow the Mckinney ISD school calendar, however we begin our school year after the Labor Day Holiday and end our school year before Memorial Day.  Our normal hours of operation are Monday-Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm.  Please review our posted school year calendar for details and holidays. Our mission is to enrich the lives of children – spiritually, emotionally, academically, and physically while growing in God’s love. We provide a fun and safe learning environment that fosters positive Christian values, self-management and independence. Our curriculum is biblically based and incorporates developmentally appropriate academic concepts for each age group.

Values and Learning

Children enrolled in Crosspoint Clubhouse experience teaching of basic Christian values with a broad range of academics. We have a well-planned, teacher-written curriculum, with school-wide monthly themes, Bible characters, art, dramatic play, music, science/nature, finger plays and group time. The daily schedule also includes playground time (weather permitting), and plenty of time to move about and expend that endless energy, as well as quiet activities. Our preschool classes utilize a variety of resources for spiritual and academic focus including but not limited to WeeLearn Curriculum, Frog Street Press, Quirkles Science, and Baptist Way Press Curriculum.

Teacher Training

Every teacher receives ongoing training in child development, safety, discipline, religion, CPR, First aide and creative teaching skills. We have a highly qualified preschool staff, one of the best in the area! Most of our preschool staff members are actually certified teachers, many with emphasis and experience in early childhood education. Obviously they bring with them a wealth of knowledge and resources.  Starting at age 3 we have two state certified teachers in each classroom.

During music class, the school’s monthly themes are extended and the children learn songs, finger plays and creative body movements.  We have two programs in the Worship center every year, one being at Christmas time and one in the Spring.

Art & Spanish

Once a week, students from ages 2 and up will receive an art and Spanish class. Students are instructed in the principals of art and basic Spanish language development.

For children age 3 (by 9/1) and older, Chapel is a special time for our preschoolers, in which they pray, sing and listen to God’s Word.  We begin teaching them about God’s love for us and important people in the Bible.  We teach them the basics of what prayer is, how we pray and why we pray.

Monthly Events

Throughout the school year we plan numerous activities to help teach and enrich our curriculum.  We may have the fire trucks visit with the fireman, the tooth fairy to teach us about dental hygiene, a pumpkin patch, Mother’s Day Tea, Donuts with Dads, etc.

Special Celebrations

We have planned many special event days throughout the year. These include an Easter egg hunt, Spring Program, Thanksgiving Feast, and Christmas Program.
